Cygnus is a 100% male hybrid and is suitable for the cultivation of white asparagus in Northern Europe. Cygnus is a moderately early variety with a high yield. Thick stems with a beautiful quality. Firm tips and is strong against hollow stems. Vigorous crop, strong against leaf diseases.

Cultivation
Cygnus thrives best on vigorous, well-drained soils. Good results are being achieved on both sand and clay soils. Cygnus is excellent for cultivation under black/white foil and (mini)tunnel. The recommended plant density is 5 - 6 plants per linear metre.

Product
With its uniform sorting in diameter and quality and the thick stems, the variety is of beautiful quality. Cygnus produces asparagus with firm tips, is strong against hollow stems.
